Hurricanes and Tornadoes


Answer the following questions in complete sentences on a sheet of paper.

Hurricanes
1. Look at the hurricane to the right. Make a quick sketch on your paper. Label the eye, eye wall, and storm surge. Please refer to p. 575-577 for help.

Tornadoes

3. Click on "Cause your own tornado." Then click on "Check conditions." Does the warm air mass need to be wet or dry?
4. Manipulate the various factors. Create your tornado. After you watch the simulation, describe its intensity (on the Fujita Intensity Scale).
5. Click on "try again." Write down the four factors that you need to make a tornado in this simulation.
